Here's my take on the bike rack.

Have taken three 60 mile trips on the setup. Rock solid.

Sorry about the blur.

Tech Specs:

1-1/4" round Al stock cut to length, front bar custom flatened to slip between floorboard and Sito+ Bolted in place with Stainless hardware.
    one Yak Copperhead rail
2 Jannd Velcro straps for front wheel
Total Price $18 + Yak Rail

And if you're wondering about right hand turns, yes I'm very aware of the lean angle, but so far I haven't tipped it far enough to care. I've been commuting with it loaded and empty for 6 weeks now and haven't come close.

That is a pretty cool setup. I just wanted a rack that would install/uninstall quickly and with no tools. Do you find that this setup creates a lot of wind resistance? I'm just curious...

I left enough room for my foot to get to the kick start (since I don't have electric start right now) and to put my foot down in odd emergencies.

I don't seem to notice any more resistance from the wind than normal. I debated putting it on the left or right to offset engine weight. I figured the right side was more protected.

As for "quick" release. Currently it's held on with 4 stainless bolts. If I wanted to spend more than $25 and 2.5 hours on it, I would have used studs with clips or Seatpost QRs. If I find a reason to remove it a lot, I'll look into it.

With reference to the other bike rack thread, I like this alternative setup a lot - very clean & neat.

It also kinda reminds me of the way surfboards are carried by bicycle at/near beach cities.
